Research

For the next few months I'll be travelling the globe, sizing up taco trucks, taqueria's and any Mexican eating holes I come across.

First up is the Taco Truck, which cruises the mean streets of North Melbourne three nights a week. They update their where-abouts on Facebook each morning so the hungry customers know where and when to gather. Myself and two lovely amigos braved a cold and wet journey (especially wet for me with a hole in my left shoe) to Northcote.

Found it, I sure am a sucker for stickers.

The menu. A bit pricey for Mexican food, especially if you wanted to try all three like me.

Fish on the left, chicken on the right, and a few hand made chips on top.

Crisp potato taco on the right (hands-down favourite).

Overall I was thrilled to have found it. The whole experience of tracking it down was fun (especially with my company). The food was above average but not quite as authentic as I was hoping. No radish slices on top, so sprinkle of fresh corri and they didn't press their own tortillas.

Next time I'm heading to Melbourne I'll definitely be tracking it down.

  1. Nicely done Brad. Looks like the Taco kick has reached NZ..which is great to see. You guys are finally realizing the potential of the taco....and how it can change the world. I want to be part of the movement... Brad, I will make sure you taste the most radical, amazing and traditional mex food you've had since you've been in the bay. I will make sure of that... Looking forward to it bro... get ready. :)
